This has to be one of the most exciting times of the year here in Dothan. Fall is in the air and the nights are most pleasant, and it is a great time for the National Peanut Festival to kick-off. This event brings tens of thousands of people into Dothan every year.
In actuality, events surrounding the Peanut Festival kick-off in October with Little Miss and Miss National Peanut Festival pageants, the Cubmobile Derby, and the marching band competition. The celebration cumulates with the National Peanut Festival Parade on Saturday, November 10. But the big event is always the festival itself, which is eight days of all the carnival rides you can ride and all the food you can eat, not to mention some very good entertainment. This years entertainment lineup includes Darryl Worley, Jeff Bates, Hurricane Chris, and the Monument Quartet.
