Slocomb tomato vineNews here on Dothan Home Search has been scarce this week, and I apologize to everyone. I have been out in Las Vegas at the National Association of REALTORS convention. This was my first trip to Vegas, and I must say that it has a unique beauty about it. There are lots of sites to see, both natural and man made, each with its own quality and appeal. The lights on The Strip at night, the fountains at Bellagio, and the architecture of The Venitian are all fun to look at. The mountain backdrop and the site of Lake Mead from above is truly breathtaking as well. See some pictures at the bottom of this page.

Good thing for our readers that there is no shortage of pickings on the Tomato Vine this week. As I have shared with this audience before, the Real Estate Tomatoes are a group of real estate and mortgage professionals whose goal is to give their knowledge of their respective markets to the readers of their blogs. My hope is that this information will be relevant and valuable to the readers of dothanhomesearch.com.

As promised, here are the best on the vine this week.

Speaking of mountains, Mary of Beltway Ramblings has a post about the Blue Ridge Mountains and Skyline Drive. Great pictures Mary!

Uncle Jack at Very Vintage Vegas has a post on how the Las Vegas area is expected to grow over the next few years. We had a great time in your town Jack, and good luck with all that growth!

Back to some interesting reads related to real estate. Rob at 3 Pounds of Real Estate gives you a good overview of how to evaluate an income property. In this buyers market, there are a few deals out there. If you are interested in exploring the possibilities of real estate investing, contact us.

We always talk to our clients, both buyers and sellers, about the importance of a home inspection. Jennifer covers Central Denver on her blog, and shares with you the importance of a home inspection, even if you aren’t considering selling.

With all the news about the increased number of foreclosures across the country, many buyers are looking this way to try to find that once in a lifetime deal. Consider yourself warned by Sandy at Chico Home Search; there are several things you must know before making an offer on a foreclosed property.

While on the subject of foreclosures, John at Homeward Real Estate helps answer the question about alternatives for homeowners facing foreclosure.

Sara has her hand on the pulse of Kuna Country, Idaho real estate, and shares her previous experience with buying directly from an owner. A must read for home buyers everywhere.

Karl at Pensacola Real Estate News has some sage advice for home buyers on how not to lose your loan before closing.

Jeremy is The Real Estate Blogster, and he does a great job of spelling out several mortgage options for home buyers.

Another week of great writing Tomatoes! As promised, here are some pictures from my trip to Vegas.
