Dick - Many times we take water for granted. Having lived in Arizona, where there it is a constant battle about water rights to the Colorado River and who owns the water, I understand the battle the residents of Dothan face.
You have provided some very useful tips. It is imperative people take steps to preserve this resource, especially during drought.

When wells are running dry...that is bad. I flew over Lake Weiss in north Alabama on the way into Atlanta last Friday. I must say you could see more dirt than water. I am sure Lake Lanier and the other north Georgia lakes are just as bad or worse.

We had an 80% chance of rain both last night and this morning here in Dothan, and we got just enough to wet the pavement. It is scary to think what might be coming down the road.

So good to see that others are concerned with the drought that we are now facing. Glad to hear that the Dothan, AL. area is not experiencing water shortages. Here in the North Georgia Mountains, we have many folks that have wells that are running dry due to the water table being well below average. Great tips on water conservation.
