Fortunately for us, we did have such an arrangement in place before my wife went on a business trip at the same time as our closing and moving date. It's bad enough with writer's cramp signing all that paperwork ONCE. Imagine having to do it twice! (More like 3 times because of having to write the signature plus the POA designation.) Here’s another way to mess up a hassle-free closing:
